Anticipated Releases: September 2019

How is everyone doing today? 🙂

So I am back today with one of my favourite monthly posts- my Anticipated Releases!

For those who are new to my blog, I like to scour Goodreads and the web and make a list of the books I’m most looking forward to being published that particular month. I love reading up on the bookish industry like this, it certainly helps keep me connected and up to date with all the cool new books being released into the world!

As I am a UK blogger I do tend to stick to UK release dates as much as possible. Some books are delayed in the UK, so if you think I have missed a really important release, it could be that in the UK it comes out at a different time (or I’m just not interested in it, w/e)!

September seems to be a bit of an interesting month regarding new titles. I mean, I definitely saw some Christmas-themed titles already popping up, haha! But overall I think Autumn/Winter is when the thrillers and themed fantasies really start to crop up, which is great. Without further ado, here are my most Anticipated Releases for September 2019:

428679371. The Girl the Sea Gave Back by Adrienne Young~ publication day: 3rd September 2019
This is actually a companion novel to Sky in the Deep, but I have read this can be used as a standalone (which I’ll be counting on haha). It focuses on Tova, who can cast runes to see into the future, and lives in a tribe that found her washed up on the shore when she was a child. At the cusp of an impending war, what she sees may change the mainland forever. I am certainly intrigued by this one, I already know what could happen!

438227582. The Lady Rogue by Jenn Bennett~ publication day: 3rd September 2019
First of all, doesn’t this cover look so interesting! This is pitched as a cross between The Last Magician and A Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue, which seems interesting! Theodora has never been allowed to go on a treasure hunting expedition with her father, until the day he doesn’t come back. She then travels with his 19 yo protégé Huck to Romania to find her father, and the magical ring they were all looking for. Definitely seems like a cool romp!

43562239. sy475 3. Permanent Record by Mary H. K. Choi~ publication day: 3rd September 2019
Okay I’m kinda cheating here; although the ebook is released in September the paperback isn’t published in the UK until November… but I really wanted to feature this one! I still haven’t her other recent book- Emergency Contact- but it is always on my to-buy list. This one looks super cute too, about a romance between an ‘average’ person and a teen celeb becoming viral. I hope it’s a good story!

41823536. sx318 4. There Will Come a Darkness by Katy Rose Pool~ publication day: 5th September 2019
Another one I am slightly cheating on- the ebook was released in September but the UK PB is not publishing until March 2020, and I did NOT want to wait that long to feature this haha! In a world that used to be governed by prophecies, the last one signalled a new Prophet that could either save or destroy the world. I love this sort of thing and so I couldn’t not add it to this month’s list 🙂

44596261. sy475 5. Kingdom of Souls by Rena Barron~ publication day: 19th September 2019
Oo, so this one sounds really good! It focuses on Arrah, born into a family of witchdoctors but who still cannot bring forth her magical powers. Her last resort is trading years of her life for scraps, but with missing children and the threat of a Demon King, not all may be easy. This sounds really interesting; I do love stories where people turn to drastic measures!

As ever I can never leave the list at just 5 books, so here are 5 more new titles that have caught my eye this month:

44144248                     42036538                 44510281. sy475
. Released 10th September  Released 10th September .  Released 19th September .
43453718. sy475                   46396805. sy475

. Released 19th September Released 26th September .

And there we go, these books are the ones I am most excited to see being published this September. I did cheat with a couple to use their ebook dates, but sometimes the wait for books in the UK are just way too long, haha! Either way there is definitely a darker theme going on in a lot of these books- very apt for the change to Autumn~

Are you looking forward to any of these books? Are there any new releases you think I’ve missed this month? Let me know in the comments!

    1. Oh, do you think so? I mean it is certainly different to a lot of fantasy covers that are out at the moment 😛 Haha and true! Gideon the Ninth looks so entertaining, it sounds like it could have some really funny moments. I hope you manage to get your hands on a copy 😀

    1. That’s very true! I find this time of year is when a lot of interesting themed books come out in preparation for cosier autumn/winter months. Not good for my bank balance though! Thanks for your lovely comment!
