Hello, hello, how are you all doing?
Okay I’m sorry, but where on earth did September go!? I feel like this has been the quickest month so far; in my head it is still like the 8th or 9th September?
I usually do this at the beginning of the month, but I’m away for much of this week so I’m doing a wrap-up on the final day of September instead… it’s close enough! 🙂
So, how was your September? I’ll be honest, mine was super busy, and sadly not in the fun way! Work has taken up all my time, which has been kinda difficult, so I really haven’t had much time to think of anything else! Oh, but I have moved into a new flat this month! I’ve been living with my parents since leaving uni like 4 years ago (oops) as they live within a commutable distance from my work. But there certain things that I felt being at home was holding me back from, so I finally took the plunge and moved out! I’m definitely still getting into a good routine with it, but I don’t regret it so far 🙂
Other than that I have been ill the whole of September, haha! I started getting a cough at the end of August, but it just hasn’t gone away! I have developed a cold on top of the cough, and it’s only now that I am starting to feel an improvement.. let’s hope I fully recover soon!
Outside of my busy personal life, how has the month been book-wise? Well…. not the greatest? Mainly due to lack of time I don’t think I have been able to dedicate myself to reading. But, let’s just get in to this bookish wrap-up and find out, shall we?
Here is my bookish wrap-up of September 2019!
Books I Read
In my September TBR I actually did something I rarely do and played the month fairly chill? Apart from reading and finishing Does my Head Look Big in This? by Randa Abdel-Fattah I didn’t have any other specific books on my list; I was just going to pick something up depending on my mood?
Well, in September I read:
Does my Head Look Big in This? by Randa Abdel-Fattah~ ★★★☆☆ [TBC]
Okay this one too me much longer to read than I imagined! I hoping this would be a fun and insightful read… while there were certainly some good parts I unfortunately couldn’t get on with this book. Mainly because I found Amal’s personality so whiny and annoying! It was super over-the-top and entitled, and I did not approve. But then again, I am not the target audience, so who knows?
Yep, just one the book! Can I use the excuse that life has been pretty for me lately? I am SO behind with everything bookish at the moment, which is such a shame! Let’s hope October is more positive.
September Blog Posts
[+ this one!]
With everything going on this month I am grateful that I managed to make my usual Monday posts… even if I did drift out of the bookish themes a bit! That said, I finally made the first travel post for my trip to Sapporo back in February, which feels amazing. I’ll try to get the second part up in October so they are at least not too far apart! 🙂
September was pretty abysmal as far as my reading has been concerned, I have to admit. In my defence, as I have moved to a new place I haven’t been able to bring any books with me at the moment as they are too heavy; all I have is one graphic novel and a Kindle. But these days I have been neglecting my Kindle so maybe it’s a good thing as I can finally read some of my ebook collection!
I don’t have any reading preferences at the moment, so I’ll decide on any kindle books when I get the chance. Otherwise I may pick up Laura Dean Keeps Breaking Up with Me by Mariko Tamaki (and illustrated by Rosemary Valero-O’Connell), as this is the graphic novel I have in my room. I am planning on visiting my parent’s house pretty soon so I may pick up some of my other books to start reading, you never know!
And there we go, that’s everything wrapped up! Apologies for my lack of presence on the blog and book community at the moment. I’m hoping that October will be more settled so I have time to get back into my hobbies… although is is Inktober where I try to draw every day in October- so who knows at this point. I’ll try my best for you lovely readers! ❤
How was your September? Did you meet any of your goals? What are you planning to read next? Let me know in the comments!
